pleasant surprise.

The book is very good- the "look and feel", physically well made; the pictures very pleasing ( not funny caricatures) , the stories themselves are very well written and just right for children altho not bad for adults either. I would recommend it highly to everyone. The prayer after each story is a big plus. I bought one but will buy more for my other grandchildren.

Perfect Book For Young Children

I loved the bible stories as well as the quotes after the stories. There were also activities to use with children. I taught a Catholic religious class & all my students loved it. The stories were at a child's level to understand. I have bought this book more than once.

Highly recommend for Catholic Children

Beautiful Bible for young children. I got this for my 4 year old to begin reading bible stories and he likes them and the pictures. We read one of these stories at the end of story time before bed. Each story ends with the lesson and a prayer. Great way to end our nightly ritual before bed. Highly recommend!

A Nice First Bible

I bought this Bible for my son who just turned 5. This Bible is a nice introduction to the stories of the Bible and is just right for his age and a few years older (4 - 7 years old). The things I like about this Bible are... * Each Bible story is a short 2 pages. Perfect for younger children. * At the end of each story their is a short summary of how to the story applies to the child's life. * After the summary there is a prayer that also applies to the story. * At the beginning of the book are familiar Catholic prayers such as the "Our Father", "Hail Mary", "Glory Be", "Grace", and "Angel of God" (also known as the Guardian Angel Prayer). * At the back of the book there is an activity or extension of each Bible story. An example of the layout of this book is the first story in the book is the story of creation. The summary states "God created everything on this Earth, and then he asked people to take care of his creation." The short prayer reads, "Thank you for creating the world, Lord. Your creation is beautiful." and ends with the sign of the cross and Amen. The activity in the back tells you you need magazines, glue, & paper or cardboard. The directions state to cut pictures of God's creation from magazines and glue them to the cardboard and display it. After the activity is complete you are instructed to ask your child(ren) what he/she/they do to help take care of the world God created. A very nice first Bible for young children.

Like it, but could be better

I like the illustrations and my 4 year old daughter enjoys one or two stories from the book every night for her bedtime story time. We do the prayer at the end of each section together and I enjoy the fact that the stories are no more than 2 pages long and each page has a wonderful, colorful illustration to keep a curious toddler engaged while the parent reads the narrative. The only thing I would change would be to add more biblical stories with a lesson. I would have less about the miracles of Jesus and more about stories that exemplify kindness or fairness or goodness, etc.

Better than church workbook

Love this in place of book given by religious education department of our Catholic Church. There is a project for each story and an ending prayer. I have three little kids and found this to be better than workbooks given by church.

Easy read!

This book is just right for my 4 year old. The stories are not to long and I like the little prayer at the end of each story. Makes for great bedtime ritual.

Great starter Bible for little ones

My children, ages 5 and 3, love this little Bible. It greatly simplifies the stories, yet teaches little ones a great deal. The stories are just the right length and get the point across before my kids lose interest. Nice illustrations, too--the kids ask lots of questions about the pictures. I love the short prayers included at the end of each Bible story, too!

We love, love

We love, love, love this book. Every night before bed for a year now since buying this, my husband or I will share a story from this book with our two daughters - ages 4 and almost 2. I love how they are short enough to keep the attention of little ones, but not compromising on theology. My older daughter especially has really retained a lot of knowledge from this book and is becoming very familiar with some of the important members of salvation history. This is certainly not an exhaustive chronicle of every person or story in the Bible, so if that's what you're looking for, check out some other options. But if you have little ones and you are looking to start teaching them a few more details about the Bible, this is what you're looking for! The art is really nice (not creepy or awkward like some other Bible story books have) and the little prayers at the end are just right.

GREAT Bible for little ones!

I bought this Bible to share with all of my kids, but my oldest took to it when he was just 3 years old. He asked me to read bible stories from this book every night. He is 5 now and and his younger brother now loves it, too. It's beautifully animated and the wording is very easy for them to understand. The stories are also a page or two long which is great for short attention spans.
